Text Box: Our unique curriculum combines golf skills with character development. The program is year round and is designed for young golfers from ages 6-18. All abilities are welcome. The golfer is placed in his/her appropriate skill level and are able to advance through the 6 levels of comprehensive instruction at their own pace. After passing each Level Test, students will receive a Bag Tag . The program is intertwined with 8 "Play Days" a month where the children play on the course with their parents or adult supervision. Pam Bowers is our Program Director . She grew up in Henderson playing junior golf and for the Basic High School golf team. Pam attended SDSU on a golf scholarship and played on the Futures Golf Tour, as well as LPGA events. She received her formal training through the PGA and Nike Golf. Pam has been awarded the US Kids Golf Top 50 Kids Teacher Award in 2006, 2007 & 2011. In January 2012 she was honored at the PGA Show with Top 50 Master Kids Teacher Award. This prestigious award categories both her and our program to be among the best in the world. Her heart for kids, fun and 25 years as a teaching professional bring a unique enthusiasm to the Junior Golf Academy. Dale Bowers is the JGA Director of Operations and a USGTF Certified Golf Instructor. His teaching skills and patience are an asset to the Academy. Dale has the ability to enable students to have fun while learning solid funda- mentals. He truly enjoys working with students to help them reach their goals, and as a result they enjoy working with him. His long term goals include working with players of all ages to teach them strong fundamentals, correct knowledge of the golf swing, and on course strategies to help them reach their true potential. Our Philosophy Creativity, direction, patience, kindness and enthusiasm are the key ingredients for fueling our student’s interest in learning. Our class sizes range from 4 to 10 golfers. We focus on organization and good communication with the kids and their parents. We teach to a curriculum for each level, so each student is clear on what skills they are striving to master. Because of this focus each student can make progress quickly. The kids are thriving on their own personal growth and accomplishments on and off the course. They are learning that “doing their best”, rather than “being the best” is a part of winning in the big picture.
